Qualifications

Below are my qualifications and experiences which makes me potentially a good inspector. A good inspector has a wide variety of experience and knowledge, and communicates these issues properly and addresses them to the building being inspected. Consequentially, there are two important factors for doing a good inspection: knowledge of the industry and clarity in the reports.

Construction Experience:

30 years, Concrete work, Framing, Siding, Electrical, Plumbing, Insulation, Drywall, Painting, Floor Coverings, Interior Trim, Cabinet and Counter Tops, Roofing, General Contracting, Subcontracting, Remodeling, New Construction, Commercial Construction, Tenet Improvement, Insurance Work, etc. Inspection

Inspection Experience:

10 years of professional home inspection, commercial building inspection, and pest inspection work. Also includes bank construction draw inspections, and commercial and residential insurance inspections.

Licenses:

Washington State Home Inspector: License #427 by Washington Dept. of Licensing. Since Sept. 2009

Washington State Pest Inspector: License #66886 by Washington Dept. of Agriculture. Since Nov.2003

Federal Aviation Administration: Airframe and Powerplant License, issued Sept.1979

Schooling:

B.S. Electronic Engineering Technology from Central Washington University (ABET approved) in 1993. This gives me a very rounded understanding of all electrical systems.

Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance Technology from the South Seattle Community College in 1977-1979.  This was a 2000 hour course.  This is where I learned the majority of my inspection techniques as well a good understanding of mechanical systems, including heat pump systems, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical systems, etc.

Personal Convictions:

I have a strong work ethic and I believe in delivering a quality product, in a timely manner. Your report will be typed, not hand written, with digital photos of the areas of concern, noted in the report. It will be clear and concise. All of the realtors, which I work with like my reports, because the information is easy to find and not buried in hundreds of computer generated pages which really say nothing. If you are real estate agent looking for someone to fudge on a inspection, go get someone else!
